Yellow Thought of the Week
Key idea: Comradery Toad talked big about all he was going to do in the days to come, while stars grew fuller and larger all around them, and a yellow moon, appearing suddenly and silently from nowhere in particular, came to keep them company and listen to their talk. Kenneth Grahame (Wind and the Willows) Do you remember back when you were a kid and you were so proud that you could stay up all night? Listening to music by yourself or just hanging out and enjoying the company of a friend? As you got older, there were those slumber parties alive with girl talk, camping trips around the fire or just those times where there was time to hang out, to dream, and to get support. Being out in nature, at least for me, enriches the quality of the experience. Powerful moments long remembered. So with the blessing of the stars and the yellow moon, Toad and his friends from the classic Wind and the Willows get to do these things, hang out, talk, share feelings of closeness and simply develop their dreams. Kenneth Graham evokes some pretty eloquent images here. How do these images resonate with you? How might some version of a nature experience with a friend or two or even just a little more hang out time, call to you? What this week, perhaps underneath a literal or metaphorical soft yellow moon, could you do to rekindle some important piece of this picture?,
