Color Reading of the Week!!!Green Reading of the Week*
Charmaine chartreuse and Kelly the Green Dragon Be True To Who You Are If these cards have come to you, they’re providing some vivid reminders to be true to yourself. What things mean most to you? What is most dear? Are you on a path that’s keeping you focused on those things? Charmaine Chartreuse is a great card for turning our attention to what means most to us and for encouraging us to connect and reconnect with what we really care about. Just like her color, Charmaine is a little bit odd, but also just like her color, she’s not afraid to be bold and to live her truth. She makes sure that the chartreuse mansion in which she lives is repainted annually to keep its color standing out. She likes having the longest nails and spikiest hair in town, and she’s willing to spend hours observing the local fruit stand so she can go back and paint the scene. Others consider her a little eccentric, but more than many of us, she’s certainly unafraid to include in her life the things that give her joy. Kelly the Green Dragon is a very different character. For starters, he’s a dragon! But even dragons, with a lot of power, do best when they’re connecting with their true natures. A likeable lad from Texas, he heads north to seek adventure, fame and fortune. The trouble is of course he feels out of place in his new land: too cold, too lacking in culture and, above all, too few people to call friend. Because he is lonely and a little unfocused, he allows himself to get tricked by a squirrel into giving up a prize green acorn which would have kept him in food for the winter. Disgusted, he realizes he has made a big mistake; putting his tail between his legs, at least metaphorically, he begins the trip back home. Two good stories. Two likeable characters, one human and eccentric; the other of a different species altogether and inexperienced. It’s easy to write Charmaine off as old and out-of-touch and yet it’s honoring her own eccentricities that makes her story so unique and wonderful. In his turn, Kelly needs to learn the hard way, and he finally gets the message that It’s the support of friends, family and fellow dragons that keeps him centered and happy. Go Charmaine. Go Kelly. Show the rest of us how to be true to ourselves. How do these ideas resonate with you, and what is an action you could take this week on this basis?. *Based on the fables from Tori Hartman’s card deck.
